Gold ‘n Bluez is the official dance team for the Southern ​University Men’s and Women’s Basketball Team. The team ​was founded in 2000 by Jonas Vanderbilt with the intention ​of giving young women at Southern University an ​opportunity to showcase their love and passion for dance all ​while giving the members the experience of a pro dance ​team. The team takes a liking to the style of the Miami Heat ​Dancers, Pelicans Dance team, and so many more NBA ​dance teams.

The creation of this phenomenon, THE SU GOLDBLUEZ, was ​conceptualized and then realized. A dreamer, Jonas ​Vanderbilt, decided that there were more than just a few ​talented black female dancers at the most prominent HBCU ​to represent the university.

Formerly the Fastbreak Dancers, Jaguar Jems to now GNB, ​these beautiful women represent the Jaguar Nation with ​Class, Dignity, and most of all Talent. Jonas Vanderbilt, a ​creative soul, along with the many visionary women and ​men who have helped to mold what GnB is are forever in ​the history books of SU. Who would have known that years ​later the posters, calendars, talent, following, and love ​would exponentially grow to the present day craze this team ​has become.
